Land Art Generator Initiative, Glasgow
Erz was shortlisted to the final three Scottish teams in 2016’s Land Art Generator competition. Working with a broad interdisciplinary team with partners, architect Riccardo Mariano and poet/artist Alec Finlay, we developed a scheme “to bring forward human-centred solutions for sustainable energy infrastructures that enhance the city as works of public art while cleanly powering thousands of homes”.
Our ideas used hydro, wind and solar power to create a green energy system that would power a new neighbourhood on Dundas Hill.
At peak production times the excess energy would generate a rainbow in a giant mist jet on the hill top. This would be visible across the city as an intermittent beacon.
