Climate Box
The piece is, in simple terms, a glass cube. The cube is a self-contained living system that generates and stores its own energy for heat and light.
The cube will have a significantly different presence in summer and winter. The short winter days will make the glowing box a beacon and inspiration through the long hours of darkness.
The content of the cube is to be developed through a process of engagement with local people.
The cube has been developed to incorporate all of the technology, services, access points etc within its simple form and acts as an exemplar of what alternative technologies can do in terms of microgeneration of energy, storage and use.
