Emily studied Landscape Architecture at the University of Edinburgh, graduating in 2018, for which she was awarded the Landscape Institute Scotland Portfolio prize. She was Highly Commended for her portfolio at the Landscape Institute Awards 2018 and was part of Edinburgh College of Art’s winning team for the 2018 International Landscape Biennial School’s Prize.
Prior to postgraduate study, Emily spent two years developing her skills as a designer and project assistant with a range of cultural and curatorial organisations. Projects included a Cultural Strategy for Thamesmead devised by Thirteen Ways for Peabody, and the creation of an artist-led system for living with Grizedale Arts at the Irish Museum of Modern Art.
Always attentive to local distinctiveness, Emily takes a sensitive approach to create work with a strong sense of materiality.
